Most drivers will drive with their doors locked, just like in many areas in real life.
Default percentage of drivers having their cars locked is set to 80%. You can change this value in the .ini file.
Taxi cabs are not affected.
Parked cars
Parked cars can also be used. Note that this will also lock your own cars. Use my other mod, Vehicle Remote Central Locking, together with this one, to unlock manually. Activate parked cars in the .ini file by setting parked_cars equal to something above 0 and lower than or equal to 100.
After you have changed something in the .ini file, move far away from your current position. The mod saves all cars temporarily and wont affect them once they are handled once.
Affect all option in the .ini file.
All cars can be set to be affected and able to be be unlocked. If set to 0, the mod will only lock, not unlock.

Animations for trucks, tractors, buses are glitched. This might be because there are no animations made for these vehicles when someone is being jacked in them if the doors are locked. And so the wrong animations are played. There is a option in the ini file that removes these vehicles from getting locked thus also the glitched animations.
Most peds will break into their own vehicles after taken a walk outside of it and trying to get inside again. I have yet to find a way to unlock peds vehicles when they get outside.
Report say that sometimes the window next to driver disappears but it still plays animation of crashing window. This is because the same animation is always played when getting into a locked car, even if the window is already smashed.
Installation
You need the lastest version of the tool Script Hook V by Alexander Blade in order for this mod to work.
Put CautiousDrivers 1.x.asi and CautiousDrivers.ini into your GTA5 folder where your GTA5.exe is located. Remove it again to remove the mods feature. Note that the mod is disabled when going online into multiplayer.

@R3QQ Does this also fix parked cars? Because in some parking halls genius rockstar has made all cars unlocked :D i mean cmon nobody does that in real life.

@R3QQ Ok, which version does this mod support? I tried it, and din't work. Other scripts work.
@juh00 You mean the version of GTA 5 itself? It's developed for the latest/current version. That's strange. It works for me and no one else has reported it as not working. So you got both files in the GTA5 folder where your GTA5.exe is located? Because that's important, the .ini file is important. Note that the percentage is set to 80% in the .ini file as default so not all cars with drivers are locked. You need to save the .ini file before going back to the game and get the value updated.
@juh00 Set parked_cars to 100 in the .ini file, save it and try again (it it's not already at 100 or high). The number stands for percentage. It that doesn't work, I don't know what's wrong. I tried it again on my computer and it works great.
@juh00 Hmm.. I can't think of anything else that might make it not work :/. Try to restart the game or move far away from your current position. The mod saves all cars temporarily and wont affect them once they are handled once.

@Kraftwerk It should, since it's written directly in C++ and not .Net or Lua. Notify if you're running into problems.

@R3QQ any way to make NPCs be able to get into locked cars with impunity? I need to know as it this script is awesome and indispensable but prevents an NPC from using their own car after they leave it. Is there a setting I should know about to prevent relocking once an occupied vehicle is vacated? hope this is clear. I 100% need that functionality. Is it possible? I haven't reviewed the natives in a while and haven't reverse-engineered your work yet so I don't know.
@juh00 you are talking about nothing but complaining. Why don't you keep quiet and learn to solve problems yourself? If the mod is not working it's because you're installing it incorrectly. ASI files go in the core GTA folder, not scripts folder.

@Aurora11 Yeah, all my doors are locked except for the driver door, I don't really bother to lock him mostly and I'm not sure how many cars automatically lock it for you.
