Thanks for downloading for my map mod. It's 2017 and the trees have finally started to grow again at Mount Chiliad Wilderness. Take the chance to hike the new trail of Mt. Chiliad and discover the true nature and its wonders. This is currently a beta version for now since I plan to add a little more details when I can (working on other mods atm and due to chronic back problems). Total amount of trees is around 1600 including a few plants/rocks. There are some vantage points I made so feel free to explore.
Requirements:
- Menyoo (Object Spooner)
- Object Spawn Unlocker
- Ymap converter (if you plan on converting your own maps)
https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/mapeditor-2-ymap-converter
Installation:
Menyoo
1. Drag the xml file into your spooner folder
2. Load map with Menyoo
Ymap
1. Move the custom_maps folder into Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\ (I have provided the example DLC pack folder so you don't have to download it from ymap)
Also add this line to your dlclist.xml dlcpacks:\custom_maps\
2. Drag cmwilderness.ymap.xml file into the custom_maps.rpf directory
Again, add this line to your dlclist.xml dlcpacks:\cmwilderness\
3. Load the game and enjoy
There are slight differences in using Menyoo and Ymap versions of the map.
Menyoo seems to take a toll on fps compared to the ymap version (5-10 fps decrease). Minor clipping of tree props is also shown in Menyoo
so if you plan on making a machinima, your best bet is using the ymap version. As for ymap, you cannot view the trees from a higher elevation
compared to Menyoo's object spooner because it doesn't the maximize distance scaling. So in order to fix that you will need to max out extended distance scaling
in your advanced graphics settings. As for fps issues, there's only a slight drop but it really depends on what rig you have (any low end rigs may suffer).
Plans for next update (1.1):
- Fixing more trees
- Adding trees in the paleto bay area
- Adding dynamic animals? (TBD)
- More grass/weed

@ryanm2711 @SpringbunNy Thanks!
@tall70 I have already included both Menyoo and ymap versions in the zip file
Thanks
@Modojo One more question please...how is this done? Is there also YMAP editor, Or it must be placed with Menyoo then converted? I wanna see if i can place Addon boat on water with it in single copy somewhere. ...There were some scripts attempting that, but they still too buggy.
@tall70 I used Menyoo to place the props and then converted them using sollaholla's ymap converter. But it's also buggy for prop placements. I'm not sure if addon vehicles would work since I never done that before.

@Modojo Nice job man. I have been working on my own forest map. It is a heavily modified version of Forests of Chilliad where I changed the trees to ones that match the biome they are in. I also resized them in Code Walker. You should go through your map in Code Walker and randomly resize your trees. It definitly adds uniqueness and it enables you to make the forest look even denser. Be aware though, colisions don't rescale, so try not to scale them too far away from the original value. Also, I found that recalculating the EntityExtents values in Code Walker results in improved performance.
@tall70 Check out Code Walker. Fantastic map editing tool. Menyoo is good if your doing a forest map like this initially due to colision alignment but Code Walker is the best one out there in my oppinion.
OMG looks even better than the chiliad forest mod!
Very nicely done !
@Modojo @nkjellman Thanks to both, i have quickly tried combination of tall trees and short from this mod by combining this with Forests of Chiliad and making all of it in 10k distance. I had to decrease amount of some objects for performance, but for really high end rigs just simple combining all ymaps works, it looks fantastic and really thick at area where this mod is, because it combines both tree kinds in one place without any visible conflicts trees overlapping etc...It would be better to make combination like this in editor with more artistic touch...i just removed lines in xml versions for quick test...here are some pics

Great mod but as you know map edit is not stable till now so yeah due to this reason for is getting eaten when I go anywhere near the Chiliad forest.
Great work !
@Gel060 Thanks!
@tall70 Ah very nice! Yea I'm still getting used to codewalker. Hopefully I can find out how to resize the redwood trees.
@ThEDarkEvIL Yep I stated that it really depends on what gaming rig you have. This mod is not meant for low end gaming rigs.
rip fps
@Modojo i'm not tree expert, i was told redwoods are pretty big and they alright, but even if you leave them same size, just doing combination of different groups of trees in editor so it can be set nicer by design.
@Modojo I know it perfectly, I've did a similar one on a different area:)
@Modojo does this mod conflicts with Added Aesthetic Trees and Forest Of San Andreas?
I was planning to use this mod but there is many floating trees added. Will this be fixed soon?
U rule. Please update this awesome mod! :) Please?
Where can I get the pack that mike is wearing ?
@modojo is it me or the color of the trees doesnt fit. Its too bright green.
Will this work for FiveM??
